Christmas in Wales

I’ve lived in Swansea all my life and the lights in town used to be across the lamps, and brightly lit. The parades were great and fun with always Lewis’ Pie van going past. The tree was always great. But times have changed and the lights are new, and are more up to date. But I think the lights now are not as good as they were before. The tree is still good but Swansea seems bare across the sky. And the parade now is not the best but the waterfront is lovely and bright, and the wheel is nice, also the ice-rink is fun.

Some things are better, some things worse, things move on, but the lights are not as nice  Because the old lights had snowmen and Santa and penguins, but the new lights have got stars which is not as good. I thought so and some other people have said the same to me. I loved Christmas and Santa Claus when I was young. I would go round singing carols with my friends  And I dressed up in church as Father Christmas one year. Christmas was a big thing when I was younger. We would have a party down at my nan’s, and my auntie and my great-nan, all the family, were in one street, but when great-nan died words were said. My nan and her sister fell out. We are still close but there’s no party anymore, and my nan died.

Two years ago they all made peace, which is good now. It is me and my wife, my mother and father spend Christmas day with them. We also go to Hannah’s brother on Christmas   Day and to see the children. On Boxing Day we spend time with Hannah’s side of the family. Then on New Year we spend time with my mother and father, or it’s just me my wife.

THAT’S A CHRISTMAS IN WALES

Spread the love
