Shi! Shi!\u201d&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Must include that detail of him swearing in triplicate and that\u00a0 \u201cShi! Shi! Shi!\u201d is his favourite even though he knows that \u201cFu! Fu! Fu! is more offensive, Sue thought. She had never heard him successfully complete any expletive pronounced in English.\u00a0 In Hindi, his\u00a0 range was extensive and perfectly enunciated . Replicating his\u00a0 high pitched tones, Sue\u00a0 had asked Ravi&#8217;s mother the meaning of \u201cbehn chud.\u201d\u00a0 A subdued explanation about something sexual with a sister followed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI have Lithuanians, Arabs, Malaysians and a Vietnamese and they all say the same.\u201d Sue was not sure how reassured\u00a0 Mum was to hear that there were similar expressions in all languages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhat do we know about touching our face?\u201d She said re-wiping the table.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBa! Ba!\u201d\u00a0 Ravi bleated, dropping\u00a0 the final d of bad as usual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAnd now ? &#8230;\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c appy ..thday. \u201d He clapped his hands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFantastic\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As she ushered Ravi to the bathroom, the midriff bulge of\u00a0 Sue &#8216;s Hazmat swished against the corner of the table.\u00a0 As Ravi washed his hands, they sang Happy Birthday together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sue prided herself she had cleaned and disinfected bowl, turntable and microwave precisely according to specialist COVID training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cStart again?\u201d Ravi looked at that her reassurance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Five 30 second beeps, a stir and 2 more beeps later and the porridge was ready.\u00a0 Success! For the first time, Ravi had done it all himself, with no prompting, no encouragement.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSeeya , Seeya, Seeya\u201d Ravi was grinning with pride as he gave his usual farewell greeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sue took\u00a0 off\u00a0 the suit , gloves, and mask and dropped them in the medical waste bin outside his flat<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Walking home later on the deserted streets Sue pondered the assignment&#8217;s structure.
