These new invaders method of conquest was importing huddled masses, coming to the dwarf kingdom in hopes of a better life.

The invasion was small at first. One neighbourhood in the town of Add-Brr-Of had an elven shop keeper instead of a dwarven one, then another appeared a month later, and another…

Tibia Lorner, proud indigenous dwarf remembered the disease’s progress all too well. When he was stationed at Add-Brr-Of, he’d walk past a local school, peer in through the windows and see nothing but dwarf kids, but a year later one or two elven children would sit amongst the dwarves. Thus, the tumour grew and grew for on the last year he was there, Tibia peered into the school and to his alarm saw nothing but elven kids occupying the rows and rows of desks.

Nowadays you’d be lucky to find a single dwarf living in Add-Brr-Of, for it consisted of nothing but those tall, blue-eyed adonises. The dwarves had either died of old age, fled or (and this really made Tibia retch in disgust) interbreed with the elves, so that mongrels now littered the town. And those half elf / half dwarf folk had bred with elves, and their children would breed with more elves so that a few generations down the line…

Tibia felt an intense panic when his own beloved daughter Sheaf-Let-Hew-Ti brought home her new Elf boyfriend. This blonde pointed ear fellow who bore a striking resemblance to the tyrannical elf king Abase, shook Tibia’s hand and said, “Honor to meet you, sir.” And to be sure, this elven lad was bright, pleasant, hardworking, well-behaved so naturally Tibia hated his guts over having nothing to hate about him.

“Daddy!” Sheaf exclaimed in excitement “we’re getting married” and then a year later she joyfully proclaimed: “I’m pregnant!”

Of course, the baby wouldn’t have a dwarfish name, it would have the same name as its’ father for elves were pretty insistent on maintaining their traditions. Would Sheaf teach her children of their dwarfish heritage such as the language of her ancestors when she could barely speak it herself. Would she hell!

And Tibia knew that his descendants would marry other elves, so that his thick browed, bearded, swarthy looks would be bred out and his inevitably blue eyed, blonde haired, oh so handsome descendants would pray to their elven gods, speak their elven tongues and barely be aware of their dwarf ancestors…

Tibia wept, for his kingdom was dying, and his people were soon to be endangered.

The dwarf realm of Barin-Ti had held strong for a thousand years but now it was dreadfully sick.
