\u2018Thirty five, it doesn\u2019t seem that long ago we were all in Uni.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018I\u2019m really glad we\u2019ve stayed in touch,\u2019 Amanda confided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018The Three Amigos\u2019 Jane toasted, \u2018may we stick together forever.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018Liz, are you still seeing that guy, John or something, the librarian?\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018No, another one that didn\u2019t quite work out.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

\u2018You aren\u2019t still trying to find Mr Perfect are you?  The guy would have to be a saint to cover your criteria,\u2019 Jane blurted out then realising that the wine had loosened her tongue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amanda came to the rescue, \u2018I\u2019m sure Liz knows what she is doing, Jane.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018Do you want to talk about it, Liz? We\u2019re here for you if you need us.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018Maybe, how long have you got?\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All the girls laughed as one, and their friendship was back on a sure footing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018It\u2019s not that I haven\u2019t tried out what\u2019s been on offer.\u2019 Liz said as she started to blush.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018Tell us more,\u2019 said Jane making herself more comfortable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018Well, do you remember Bret, tall and athletic? He seemed like Mr Darcy material to start with, but then I realised that the only person he was in love with was himself.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018I could have told you that.\u2019 Jane chipped in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amanda glared at her before saying, \u2018I remember you telling me about someone called Tom who seemed nice.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018Yes, he was nice, all of his other girlfriends he was going out with at the same time thought so too,\u2019 Liz snarled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018So, let me get this straight\u2019 interrupted Jane, \u2018you\u2019re still expecting to find someone who\u2019s already perfect in every way!  Girl you gotta lower your expectations.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018Jane!\u2019 Amanda protested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018It\u2019s okay, Amanda, I was coming to that conclusion myself, my biological clock won\u2019t stop for me until I make up my mind.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018Thirty five girl, not much breeding time left,\u2019 Jane remarked and poked her tongue out at Amanda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018Hasn\u2019t there been anyone at all that you could spend the rest of your life with,\u2019 Amanda said dreamily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jane and Liz both sighed at Amanda\u2019s fairy tale outlook on life. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018What I was trying to say is that Liz could opt for a lesser saint, and have him as an ongoing project?\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018You mean go for a lower model and bring him up to speed, don\u2019t you?\u2019 Liz laughed at her friend\u2019s audacity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018Perhaps you need to list of their pros and cons, and see what you could compromise on,\u2019 suggested Amanda tentatively, \u2018that always works for me.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018That\u2019s actually not a bad idea.\u2019 Liz said, \u2018I\u2019ll get a pen and some paper, could you pour me out some more wine, I think I\u2019m going to need it.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018So, the only thing wrong with the Librarian is that he snores in bed!\u2019 Jane laughed.  \u2018But so do you, I couldn\u2019t sleep a wink with the racket you made when we were camping.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n
