That\u2019s worked well in the past.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cLook George, there is only so much hoodwinking we can get away with.&nbsp; It was a good idea of yours not to give those immigrants the right to vote, showing the government as sympathetic by letting them in but maintaining that you always have the upper hand, but times change and you have to change with them.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBut,\u201d interrupted George, \u201cwon\u2019t they all vote for him or her?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s the clever bit, we will praise all of his\/her heroic deeds of leaping from tall buildings, saving babies and damsels in distress.&nbsp; Then we will let it leak that the government is funding the Superhero.&nbsp; The people will be so impressed with our foresight that they\u2019ll forget what\u2019s happened in the past and will flock to the polls to vote for us.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cRight, let\u2019s get started.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Good Morning Mr X is it? And what superpowers do you have?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI can drink a bucket of water through my nose.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cNext!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c I can pick up a handkerchief with my teeth, when I bend over backwards.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cNext!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI can run backwards.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The morning dragged on with many, many more wannabe Superheroes whose \u2018superpowers\u2019 were extraordinary, but not really what Henry and George were expecting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAll we\u2019ve got so far is a lot of party tricks, we have enough of those of our own.&nbsp; This is getting us nowhere\u201d said Henry in exasperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cTime for a little snifter, don\u2019t you think?\u201d&nbsp; George said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cLet\u2019s hope for a better bunch this afternoon. Let\u2019s get some lunch.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The drinks at lunchtime did not improve their day, it only made the rest of the afternoon seem more laborious. Henry had to elbow prod George a number of times to stop him falling asleep during the performances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was amazing what people thought were superpowers, it was like dealing with a class of six year olds. Five o\u2019clock brought a sigh of relief from both men.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBack to Plan A then?\u201d enquired George.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not quite ready to give up just yet,\u201d replied Henry, \u201cyou go ahead and I\u2019ll see you tomorrow.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As soon as George was out of sight, Henry reached down and picked up his red briefcase that contained his superpowers.&nbsp; It seemed it was all down to him to save the UK again.&nbsp; He donned his mask and cape and soared out of one of the theatre\u2019s open windows.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Are you:- Heroic Energetic Robust Organised If you can answer yes to all of the above and have a superpower, we want to meet you!&nbsp; Interviews here, commencing at 9.00 a.m. on Tuesday, 3rd May.
